Description of the wine Crémant Chardonnay Clos Windsbuhl Brut Nature 2023
In 2020, Pierre-Emile Humbrecht conducted the first trials using traditional methods on our Chardonnay vines planted on the Clos Windsbuhl. The Clos demonstrated its ability to produce grapes with all the qualities required to make a great base wine for crémant, namely finesse, acidity, and freshness. We have therefore continued to produce crémants from the coolest part of the Chardonnay vineyard (close to the forest) since 2022. We disgorged a very small quantity of the 2023 vintage for the French market only in November 2025.
Tasting notes
11/2025: The bubbles are fine and persistent. This early disgorged batch is fresh and tense, with an acidity characteristic of Windsbuhl wines. The nose is not yet marked by autolysis of the lees and therefore remains fruity with a noble vegetal note. The palate is delicate and sapid, with a tense finish. The bubbles remain elegant and unobtrusive. This is a blanc de blancs that respects the terroir of Windsbuhl and is best enjoyed as an aperitif.
