Description of the wine Riesling Roche Granitique 2024
In the context of global warming, 2024 stands out for its late-season weather. The Brand, Sommerberg, and Wineck-Schlossberg vineyards, from which the grapes for this cuvée originate, benefited greatly from excellent drainage and a geology that warms up quickly at the slightest ray of sunshine. Harvesting was quick. The youngest vines (the oldest are 100 years old!) and the first selections were used to create this Roche Granitique wine. The excellent health of the grapes allowed for a complete fermentation, resulting in a very dry wine. Bottling is carried out directly from the lees after 16 months of ageing in old oak casks.
Tasting notes
1/2026: Pale yellow color. The nose is precise and straightforward, marked by a certain austerity linked to granite. As it opens up, it reveals aromas of stone, citrus, flint... The palate is taut, elegant, airy, and lingers with finesse, with a fine, chiseled acidity that lightens the finish. This wine shines with its digestibility and ease in accepting its taut and racy character. It is a wine bursting with precision and freshness.
